There is no mandatory kit for the Little Monte Route.
RECOMMENDED KIT
Bike, we recommend a gravel or racing bike but note there are some rough/gravel areas on the side roads. A hybrid or mountain bike is fine though and will get you round! Please ensure that your bike is in good, safe condition and has had a recent service. Bikes and helmet will be checked before the race. On Friday 6th September and Saturday 7th September; we are delighted to have the team from the Bike Mobile from Ballybofey on site in Mountcharles, with bike service and kit. Check them out here:

Bike kit, we recommend you take a puncture kit, pump, waterbottles, flashing back light. Don’t forget your helmet!
Shoes, for the Full Monte route we strongly recommend that you wear trail running shoes with proper grip soles, particularly for the Leg 3 Carnaween hike/run section and Leg 5 Beach run/hike section which are on soft, slippery ground. Some participants use clip cycle shoes for cycling and change to trail running shoes to run in – this is up to the participant.
Running kit, we recommend that you take a small rucksack or running vest or cycling jersey with pockets to carry mandatory kit, food and water.
